David has been teaching on the Wasatch front since 2018 with dozens of happy students to share about their progress as players and as writers. David focuses most of his teaching on songwriting and loves to help novices to experts figure out how to express their thoughts and feelings in song! Of his own songs, American Songwriter said "This type of solid songcraft would make Burchfield fit right in on a bill with the likes of Lucinda Williams or Jason Isbell." For the moment, he offers lessons in person 1-2 weeks per month in Salt Lake and any time you want online!
