James graduated with a BMUS Jazz Performance degree from the University of Utah in 2014. He is the primary rhythm guitarist for the Hot House West Swing Orchestra and leader of the French swing/musette group Balajo. James specializes in gypsy jazz and early swing styles from Django Reinhardt, Charlie Christian, and other guitar players from the 1930s-40s.
