About the event
Drawing from a deep well of musical experience the Boys have a unique perspective on string band music, contorting the sound into a New Mexican Wild-grass like nothing else out there… structured around strong lyrical content, powerful melodies, and a musical bond that only a band of true brothers can create.
With a fresh rip -snortin’ approach to strong melodically driven songs, a playful energy, smooth singing harmonies, and an infectious stage presence. The boys have been pushing their way to the forefront of the New Mexico music scene.
Formed around late night jams at the prestigious Walnut Valley Bluegrass Festival, they blur the lines between traditional bluegrass roots music and more contemporary styles.
Tucked in the Mountains of Northern New Mexico the Foggy Memory Boys combine the unique skills of New Mexico state Mandolin Champion and master Luthier Jacob Hagerty on Mandolin
Andy Yeomans on acoustic guitar and vocals
The Undertaker Uncle Willie Hunton on dobro
singer songwriter extraordinaire Zephaniah Stringfield on Gretsch guitar and vocals
Matt Mallwitz on Bass Fiddle.
While all five are talented in their own right, FMB is definitely a case of the whole being greater than its parts. Quickly becoming one of the most exciting acoustic acts in the Southwest today.
Sharing the stage with acts such as Tim O’brien, Chris Robinson Brotherhood, Molly Tuttle and Golden Highway, the Infamous Stringdusters, the Lil’ Smokies, The Young Dubliners, Liver Down the River, The Jon Stickley Trio and The Kyle Tuttle Band. Bringing that festival vibe to whatever venue they appear.
