Hello Swing Enthusiasts!
What a night to remember! Our inaugural Swing Renaissance event on 10/12 was a roaring success, and it's all thanks to YOU. A heartfelt thank you for the show-stopping performances by Pompe 'n Honey, the University of Utah Scholarship Quartet, Salt City Swing, the Hot House West Swing Orchestra and Swing Collective. To our vibrant audience, dedicated dance instructors, incredible painters, discerning fashion show judges, and the magic touch of our event planner, Damaris Kaiser - we're beyond grateful. And of course, a massive thanks to our generous sponsors: The Utah Division of Arts and Museums, First Tracks SBA, Hopkins Brewery, and the Clubhouse. Here's to many more nights of rhythm, dance, and community! We're looking ahead to 2024 and have some big updates about future performances, so stay tuned :)

COMMUNITY NEWS
WEEKLY MUSICIAN SPOTLIGHT
We're excited to introduce Sue Buzzard, an exceptional violinist who just moved to the Salt Lake Valley over the summer. Hailing from Buffalo, New York, Sue boasts an impressive background that spans classical, jazz, folk, and improvisation. A graduate of the Berklee College of Music and the Harvard Graduate School of Education, she seamlessly merges contemporary and classical worlds, empowering violinists to unleash their true potential.
In just a short time here, Sue's leadership and impact have been nothing short of remarkable. Her resume speaks volumes: from performing alongside GRAMMY award- winners like Howard Shore and Wyclef Jean to her notable contributions to the Netflix original series, "Abla Fahita: Drama Queen." Beyond the stage, Sue's passion for education shines, offering free workshops in schools nationwide as a D'Addario educational clinician.
We're so glad to welcome her into our great Utah community. Follow her on social media and get in touch with her for gigs! We could all use a little more swingin' violin in our lives.
Pompe 'n Honey
Album Release
Congratulations to Pompe 'n Honey on releasing their new album Desert Moon! Pompe n’ Honey is a tightly knit acoustic swing band out of Salt Lake City that came together over a love of obscure, early 20th-century swing and folk music. Breaking down the wall between high-brow sophistication and raw artistic expression, they are comfort food for your ears. Their debut EP, Desert Moon, remakes traditional country swing and Gypsy jazz styles
with fresh songwriting and a taste of psychedelic grass. Be ready for banjos, guitars, dobros, fiddles, basses, salty solos, tasty harmonies, and an irresistible urge to boogie! Desert Moon's highly anticipated release is scheduled for the second week of November. Get ready for an exciting treat as they unveil their latest music video on YouTube this Wednesday, November 1st!
