Welcome to Swing and Strings Weekly # 21

Hello everyone and thanks for being patient for our weekly newsletter! We've been deep in grant writing this week so we'll keep this one bare bones. We put together a really exciting application for the Wake The Great Salt Lake project which will integrate the arts into addressing the challenges facing our lake in a really cool way. We're excited to see what the community comes up with and keeping our fingers crossed.

In the meantime, we'd like to keep you all up to date with what's happening in town!

May the stoke never die.

A Swing Renaissance Series - April 25th

Swing Into Spring!

As we Swing into Spring, we are going to focus on the history of Swing dance and how it interacts with different swing styles. We'll be featuring a bunch of great dance guests with the Swing Orchestra, including Utah's own, Salt Shakers Swing Troupe!

Get your tickets before they sell out!

We will have a delicious cocktail/mocktail menu cooked up featuring Utah's very own, Dented Brick Distillery spirits!

Hot Jazz Jam - Thursday - April 18th

Sugarhouse Violins hosts a great acoustic hot jazz jam every other Thursday. Get down there TONIGHT and sling some tunes! 7-10

Swing Collective Workshop and Jam

Monday, April 22nd

Our FREE weekly swing workshop will feature our good friend Nelsen Campbell. He will present "A Night in Rhythm."

The workshop will be followed by a jam from 7-9.Come join The Swing Collective!

Jazz Mentors Foundation - James Morrison

April 22nd - Brighton High - 7:30pm

Come hear James Morrison at Brighton High as part of the Jazz Mentors Foundation concert series! They are doing great work bringing incredible artists to Utah to perform and mentor high-school aged students. We love them, and you can too!

We are so excited for what the Ogden Friends of Acoustic Music are cooking up this year! They have a stellar line up of touring and local acts (feat. many of our very own Trash Moon Collective regulars). This organization does a TON to support the acoustic music scene in Utah. Get out and see some great music at a world-class festival, and hey, we'll even be there with our very first HHW nonprofit booth.
