DAYS OVER
WMR2507
Days Over is David Ian Baker's latest jazz album, shaped by the Western landscape—its wide, quiet spaces, ancient rock, and layered history. It reflects my growing interest in the overlap between jazz and American folk traditions, with an emphasis on space, softer dynamics, triadic harmony, and open forms.
David brought in Corey Christiansen for his distinct voice on guitar and deep connection to both the region and the sounds of Country & Western, Rock, and Jazz. His presence is a natural fit—and a clear contrast to drummer Taku Ishikawa, whose restrained, textural approach brings a spacious, unexpected balance to the trio.
The music lands somewhere between meditative and raw, grounded and open. David is proud of where the musicians ended up.
We hope you enjoy Days Over.
