ERICA MARKEN

Erica stumbled on one of the very earliest incarnations of Hot House West at the Salt Lake City Downtown Farmer's Market in 2012 and has been fangirling ever since.

Erica is passionate about building a more just and sustainable future for all and has served most of her fundraising career in higher education where she raised significant scholarship funding for underserved populations. Recently she took to heart the call to direct our respective skills and talents to help address climate change. Since 2023, Erica has served as the Development Director at Utah Clean Energy. 

In her spare time, you'll find Erica on her e-bike, cross-country skiing (mostly classic, but learning to skate ski), hanging out with her furbaby Sammy, and reading an ecclectic range of fiction and nonfiction. Erica feeds her love for Great Salt Lake by serving on the board of the Great Salt Lake Audubon where she seeks to connect others to the magic and wonder of this unique, lifegiving ecosystem.

Erica received her bachelor’s degree in dance from Hampshire College and an MBA from the University of Utah.
